Bugsier Reederei uses XBEE technology to remove carbon deposits in engines.
Bugsier Reederei (Fairplay Towage Group) is a shipping company based in Hamburg, Germany (founded in 1866). It offers a variety of services; offshore assistance and towing, coastal towing, pontoon transport, salvage, and harbor mooring. It currently operates the largest fleet of tugs under the German flag: 29 tugs, 5 pontoons, and 3 protection vessels.
At the beginning of 2012, they decided to use XBEE technology for engine decarbonizing of the “Bugsier 21”. A strategy that seeks new technologies and means to improve fleet maintenance.
