The Sociedade de Pescas Miradouro, SA., a company set up in 1965 and based in Aveiro, is the largest Portuguese fishing company.
The fishery operates a fleet of 22 vessels composed of:
- 8 trawlers catching fresh fish on the Portuguese coast;
- 12 shrimp trawlers off the Guinea Bissau and Mozambique coasts; and
- 2 pelagic factory vessels operating in NAFO, Irminger Sea, Norway, and Svalbard waters.
