The Lean & Green movement was initiated in 2007 in the Netherlands by the agency Connekt and counted hundreds of participating companies mainly in Benelux.
Connekt is a Dutch Non-Profit network for sustainable mobility. The aim is to encourage companies to promote innovations in the field of green logistics by means of measures (so-called “green logistics”) that not only save costs but also reduce the environmental impact. This European environmental-friendly foundation was used to award the Lean & Green Tool Certificate to the most pro-active European companies.
